Kill Your Darlings, a Melbourne-based, independent literary publication, seeks an Online Intern to work one day per week. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding creative company, and to have extensive and practical experience in the publishing industry. The position is voluntary and the intern will report directly to the Online Editor.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Online Intern will:

- Assist in maintaining the journal’s online presence, including the website and e-news
- Work with the Online Editor to measure and enhance the journal’s online presence, including use of social media
- Write and coordinate blog content
- Edit and proofread online content.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Online Intern must:

- Have at least basic HTML skills (experience with blogs and WordPress CMS welcomed)
- Have excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
- Be well-informed about Australian and international publishing and literary magazines, particularly the online aspect
- Be responsive, creative, innovative and hard-working
- Be able to work independently.
