Kill Your Darlings One-Day Writers Workshop with Rebecca Starford & Jon Bauer

Due to popular demand, Kill Your Darlings will host a second workshop on ‘Getting Out of Your Own Way’ on Sunday 2 December at Fitzroy Library.

Writing is challenging, but many courses that seek to support writers don’t tackle the one thing that really holds your writing back – you. This unique one-day workshop helps you come to terms with your own writing process and better understand the subtle but powerful obstacles you put in your own way. As part of a supportive group, you’ll develop strategies you’ll need if you are to start, draft, finish, and publish a piece of exceptional writing.

The second half of this one-day program unpacks the integral elements of the writing process – plot, structure, voice, the publishing industry and the art of workshopping – to better facilitate your transition from aspiring scribbler to published writer.

This is not purely a one-day course, and by the end of the day you will have a writers group for ongoing peer support, as well as the opportunity for mentoring and manuscript assessment from the two course leaders.
